It certainly seems that the perspective window can generate a hidden-line wireframe image much faster than the project editor. Another point on this note.. Wavefront (perhaps only earlier versions) is incapable of rendering a wireframe image. I spoke with a guy who needed to create a wireframe of an aircraft carrier in Wavefront, and he had to use a program that extrudes a 6-sided polygon along each edge of the object to put faces around all wires, then render. Could it be that Imagine is doing something similar to this for better wireframe representation?
